Spotify has compiled a list of sexy songs.. It’s weird but none of them appeal to me. I think a lot about sexy songs; I have a bunch on repeat on my iPod. None of the ones that made the Spotify cut appeal.
That’s because, like sex, sexy songs are extremely personal. My list includes “Lips Like Sugar” by Echo and the Bunnymen. To me, it’s one of the sexiest songs ever. I keep it in my head while writing about Sunny and Sven’s in my St. Barts novels
I also love “Open Your Eyes” by Snow Patrol. We heard the band do this live in Moscow for our twentieth anniversary and it was a transformative performance. The other song that inspired my novels is “One” by U2 but the Mary J. Blige performance. She captures the soul of the song. I also love “Addicted to Love” by Robert Palmer, which is the song for my hero. His ex-love hums along to Adele. Late in the series, I was wed to “A Quiet Song by Joe.“ I love it, especially when you are dealing with loss.
When I think about sex, I also think about “Closer” by Nine Inch Nails. I haven’t used that as a sound track to inspire any of my novels but hey, hard, pounding, feral sex….here you go. I guess the bottom line is that sexy songs depend on where you are in life and the soundtrack you have have curated.
I do better having feels about this list of love songs. It makes sense I guess, giving that I write romance novels. Which is your favourite love/sexy song? Please share and I can put it on a loop in my head when I start writing my next novel.

I’ve always thought Neil Young’s – “Like a Hurricane” was romantic – but having just really looked at the lyrics……maybe that explains why I’m single???
